Although I vote for mostly Democrat and Independent candidate, I do not belong to a specific party. I vote for the people I feel will stand up for (what I consider to be obvious) rights of every person that they represent.
I voted for Obama, and although I do not think he has done all he has wanted to do within office, I think he has started off well and I plan to vote for him in the fall election. I feel one of the accomplishments of our government of late is the healthcare reform, specifically for women's health. I do think that it lacked the punch that it should of had, with say a public option, but there are some VERY good points that the new reform puts into place. ReplyDeleteI can't believe that our national debate has degraded to an issue that was dealt with 60 years ago. Are we honestly so oblivious to the greater issues of war, the broken global economy, and money influencing politics that all we can talk about it is whether women should get health care? Honestly, if this is the limit of rational dialogue between parties; as a country, we're done. Let's go back to having the UK run it, since we couldn't possibly get it worse.
